What is Holistic Nutrition?
Holistic Nutrition looks at each person as a biochemically unique individual with different needs and goals. It focuses on the whole person: physical, mental, emotional and environmental. As a Holistic Nutritionist, it is my job to work together with you in order to identify how your physical, mental and emotional beliefs play a role in your current health, as well as connect the dots to discover the potential root cause of symptoms, imbalances or concerns. Balance in life is most likely achieved when the body, mind, and spirit are working together in harmony.
Holistic Nutrition is a natural approach to health that uses symptom-based techniques for diet, lifestyle and detoxification. Instead of following "FAD" diets, or a one size fits all method, holistic nutrition assesses your complete health history, emotional state, lifestyle habits and current dietary habits to determine the root cause of your health issues.

What is the role of a Holistic Nutritionist or Nutritional Consultant?
Holistic Nutritional Consultants focus on working directly with you to create a personalized nutrition and lifestyle program to help you reach your health and wellness goals. I do this by creating a simple, step by step program involving dietary, lifestyle and supplement recommendations that are tailored to your specific needs. I believe that coaching, either one-on-one or in a group setting, is needed to overcome emotional and mental barriers to change. I believe that setting goals, being held accountable, and making a detailed plans is key to seeing lasting results. Each one of us is unique and comes with a different background, belief and philosophy about food. I look forward to working with you to develop a program that fits your own unique health concerns and lifestyle.
I became a Holistic Nutritionist because I wanted to learn how to take care of my own health, my family's health and others.
Holistic Nutritionist Qualifications
Holistic Nutrition Professionals are certified in Natural Nutrition. They are trained in a very practical way to provide individuals with personalized client consultations as well as community education. Through in-depth nutritional courses, practical hours and supervised case studies, Holistic Nutritionists learn to provide individual client assessments and to give nutritional, supplement and lifestyle recommendations. Most Holistic Nutritionists are continually improving and updating their education by taking additional courses to specialize in more specific areas of health and wellness.
The connection between body, mind and spirit is an integral and important part of the Holistic Nutrition Certification. It is scientifically demonstrated that our state of mind and spiritual well-being affect our physical health. This enlightens a broad understanding of the way life experiences and circumstances effect health.
CHN (Certified Holistic Nutritionist) or CHNC (Certified Holistic Nutritional Consultants) are certified in Holistic Nutrition, graduating with a Natural Nutrition Diploma. This education is recognized and approved by the Certified Nutritional Practitioners Council of Canada (CNPCC) and the CSNN Alumni Association.
