3 Things That Are Keeping You From Losing Weight
(and how to get unstuck right now)
Reason #1: You are relying on your willpower to get the job done.
My least favorite weight loss advice? “You just have to be more disciplined.” (Ugh.)
Your willpower is not an endlessly renewable resource. At some point, it is going to run out.
The difference between people who keep going when that inevitably happens, and the people who give up on their health goals?
Their support system.
What you need: An accountability buddy to keep you on track and cheer you on when the going gets tough.
Reason #2: You feel like nothing you do makes a difference.
At this point, you feel like you’ve tried everything to lose weight, and NOTHING is working.
Your body is refusing to cooperate and you are starting to think there’s no point in even trying anymore.
Listen up: NOTHING could be further from the truth. Chances are, your body is simply holding on to the extra weight because it’s scared to be subjected to yet-another low calorie diet (and will need the resources to survive).
What you need: To ditch the low calorie diets in favor of balanced meal plans that give your body everything it needs to function. Once your body realizes it doesn’t have to be afraid anymore, the extra weight will melt away effortlessly.
Reason #3: You keep falling into the trap of emotional eating (over and over again).
Look, we’ve all been there.
Polishing off a pint of Ben & Jerry’s after a stressful day at work, or mindlessly munching on chocolate chip cookies on a Saturday night…
There is no shame in it.
But there IS a better way.
What you need: To take a closer look at your relationship with food and identify your emotional eating triggers so that you can stop the self-sabotaging behaviors once and for all.
